COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH

In villages across the country there are teams of volunteers committed to combating speeding in their village.

The Community Speedwatch schemes are a brilliant initiative supported by the local Police teams. Volunteers use a Speed Indiction Device that records the speed of a vehicle travelling towards it. If a vehicle is speeding the volunteers record some basic details, vehicle reg, type, colour and the time. This information is then sent to the local Police team. In most cases the speeding vehicle will be sent a letter from the Police reminding them of the speed limit with details of where they got caught speeding.

If you would like to volunteer with your local Community Speedwatch Group please fill in your details below and I will let the local group organiser know.
