You may have seen that a 20mph limit has recently been implemented on many main roads in and around Witney along with several other speed limit reductions. This is part of Oxfordshire County Council’s programme to implement 20mph speed limits in areas where there is support from the community.

 

Working with Minster Lovell Parish Council we are seeking the views of residents in the village to see what residents would like to see with regards to 20mph changes. This is an informal consultation before we consider progressing any possible scheme with Oxfordshire County Council who would then carry out the legal traffic order consultation that is required for any speed limit change.

 

The 3 options we wish to propose to you are:

1) A blanket 20MPH speed limit replacing all current existing 30MPH.

2) A 20MPH zone in a selected area of the village (see 20mph zone map here).

3) No changes at all.

As Dovecote Park is not yet the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council, we cannot include any speed limit changes here at this stage. We are looking to include reducing the Burford Road to 30mph with any changes or on its own if residents decide not to progress with 20mph in the village.
