Cllr Liam Walker is urging residents who have been affected by a spate of thefts in Minster Lovell to come forward with information as concerns grow over criminal activity in the village.
The issue was raised during a recent Minster Lovell Parish Council meeting, where members discussed a number of recent incidents involving high-value items being stolen from sheds and outbuildings. Residents at the meeting expressed concern about the apparent increase in offences and questioned whether the police response had been sufficient.
In response, Cllr Walker has committed to raising the matter directly with the local policing team to ensure the concerns of residents are heard and to seek reassurance over the action being taken.
Cllr Liam Walker said: “It was clear from discussions at the Parish Council meeting that residents are worried about the recent thefts affecting our community. I share those concerns and will be contacting the local policing team to raise the issues that have been brought to my attention. Information such as your crime reference number, details of the items stolen and their estimated value will help me build a clearer picture of the scale of the problem and strengthen representations to the police.”
Residents who have been victims of theft are asked to email Cllr Walker with:
- Their police crime reference number.
- Details of the items stolen.
- The estimated value of the stolen goods.
This information will be used to highlight the extent of the issue when engaging with the local policing team and advocating for an effective response.
Cllr Walker is also reminding residents to remain vigilant, review the security of sheds and outbuildings, and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
