I've written to the relevant County Councillors and Parish Councils to raise concerns about proposals being explored by Oxfordshire County Council that could see the Witney Road between Brize Norton and Curbridge turned into a "Quiet Lane" with restrictions on vehicle access.
With thousands of new homes planned for Carterton and Brize Norton, we need better infrastructure and connectivity, not the loss of key routes. I support improving walking and cycling, but the answer is investing in safer alternatives, not restricting access on an important road used by residents, businesses and visitors.
I've urged local councillors to oppose any such plans.
