Better buses in our reach

233 Stagecoach Bus

Liam Walker, the Conservative county council candidate for Hanborough and Minster Lovell has launched his Better Buses campaign. The campaign which focuses on making improvements to the local bus services in West Oxfordshire comes after concerns from local residents about the reduction in services.

Liam Walker said, "I am currently in contact with Stagecoach Oxfordshire about the need to make improvements to the 233 and 11 bus service. It is my view that the 233 service should better serve Hanborough Station and in particular connect the station with Witney. I also think this service has the business to become a half hour service rather than remaining as an hourly service."

After a recent meeting with Stagecoach he says they have agreed to "look again at the 11 bus service" with improvements in mind.

He continued; "It is my view that this route can be changed to better connect Witney and Eynsham via Freeland. Using a small bus would help Stagecoach make savings and keep the service running."

Local residents have backed his campaign saying that local buses "are a lifeline" to those who are not able to drive and for younger people to get to college or work.

If you agree that your local bus service can be improved, you can add your name to the campaign here.
