Extra cash for grass cutting welcomed

Some good news for residents in West Oxfordshire as Oxfordshire County Council recently announced they have approved extra money in their budget for grass cuts in the district. The extra £170,000 which is from a £1.9 million pot of money generated from better than expected business rate income in Oxfordshire, will go a long way to improving our footpaths and junctions this Summer.

The extra cutting will target key road junctions in areas across Oxfordshire especially areas like the A4095 in Hanborough where the footpath alongside the road was barely passable last year due to the overgrown grass.

Liam Walker, Conservative county council candidate for Hanborough and Minster Lovell said: "When it comes to councils, cuts are not normally wanted but I’m happy to say residents seem pleased to hear about this extra funding."

"If elected in May it would be up to councillors like me to make sure the county council carry out this key work - this is something I would do."
