Around £300,000 has been invested in repairs and improvements on the A40 between Cuckoo Lane, Eynsham, to Shores Green in Witney.
Work started on this well-used stretch of road on 23 July and lasted for five nights. The road was closed overnight between 8.00pm until 6.00am while the team worked on resurfacing, improving the drainage, removing vegetation and painting lines.
I visited the site at Barnard Gate on Thursday evening (26th July) to meet our Highways Team and the contractors working on site and to see what work they were doing.
It was good to see our team using the opportunity of having the road closed to also clear back vegetation on the slip road at Shores Green and repaint the lines on a section of the A40.
Improving our roads remains a key priority for the County Council and this £300,000 investment in this well used section of road shows the County Council are listing to concerns from residents and commuters.
