Making our villages safer

The Government recently announced a funding package of £250 million for local councils to implement measures to improve active travel. This funding has become available due to the need to help have social distancing measures in place in cities, towns, and villages across the country.

Oxfordshire County Council will get a small slice of this funding and I want to see this money spent on measures right across Oxfordshire.

I'm keen to hear from residents in my division (Minster Lovell, Crawley, Ramsden, Leafield, Hailey, North Leigh, Freeland, and Hanborough) about what improvements for walking or cycling you think we should look into.

I'm also keen to know if you would support a 20mph speed limit to be in place in our villages, in order to help make them safer.

Speeding vehicles is an issue that continues to be raised by you to me and I think this could be an opportunity to help reduce the amount of speeding going on.
